I want to pick-up an unlocked device while I'm visiting the US. This is for my fiancee, so looks are important. However, she is not interested in the camera or media player functions of a phone, she just wants either a slider or clamshell with decent phonebook functionality. Also, a nice bright screen and (if clamshell) the ability to see time/caller id on the shell display.
This doesn't seem like a lot, but without knowing what phones are available for Rogers (either activated or unlocked) it's difficult to figure this out for myself (Unfortunately, I'm a Telus subscriber so I know their line-up much better).
As added information, I'm currently in Houston so if I can pick the phone up it would be great (major stores will work, but any smaller local places with decent prices are obviously preferred). Thanks for the help!
(As an example phone for looks, the PEBL is right up her alley but the cost is a little bit excessive for what we need.)
