I will be switching to Verizon Wireless soon and I need a recommendation on what phone to get. I'm currently using a Nokia 6682(cing branded) on Cingular. I'd like to find a comparable phone for use with Verizon.
I have MEdia Net unlimited which I use for email (constant connection to my IMAP provider), Google Maps, Opera web browser, Agile Messenger, Orb, etc. I also tether with my laptop on occassion. My 6682 uses EDGE and it's fast enough for me. Also, with my 6682 incoming phone calls are able to interrupt data connections. This is a must have. When I had a Treo650 on Verizon a few years ago, I remember that calls would go to VM if I was using the data connection (1xRTT or something). Has this changed with EVDO?
I do use my memory card quite a bit. I have a 2GB rs-mmc which I use to store my MP3s and videos so I can catch up on 24 & Prison Break during my commute. I understand rs-mmc is quite rare and I don't mind buying a new mini/microSD or whatever. I just want to be able to watch vids & listen to my music on the new phone. I also have s60 and java apps & games on the card. I'm assuming most verizon phone support j2me apps? or do they not because of BREW or something?
Lastly, my 6682 is also my PIM. I don't need a qwerty keyboard as the T9 is good enough for jotting down quick appointments or notes. I'd like the new phone to have a PIM comparable to the 6682. I also sync with bluetooth to Outlook on my computer via the Nokia PC Suite.
What's the most similar phone I can get on Verizon right now? I'm not looking for something fancy like a PDA phone especially since the data plans for PDA phones are too expensive. Also for adding unlimited data to a Verizon voice plan for a regular phone, is it Vcast or is it Mobile Web? I'm kinda confused.
