Phone & PDA in one?

I am looking to buy a PDA in a few months and am researching to find my best option (I've never owned one). I currently use Verizon but am not limiting my search to their phones.

I am considering using this for both business and personal usage.
Some feautres I have been looking for: text messaging, calendar, web browsing, e-mail, bluetooth capability, portable size, camera, address book.

A few questions:

(1) What are the pros and cons of having a phone and PDA in one? I've searched to see if this is a problem but have had little luck finding reviews one way or the other. For example, What if the phone dies after the standard 2 years; am I then out of luck on the PDA?

(2) I hope this will be a long-term investment. Is that reasonable?

Anything else I should be on the look out for?

Thanks!!

if battery life, and reliability, and almost indestructable hardware is important to you id suggest a blackberry. Its not a DEEP function pda but it keeps contacts, emails and pim the best in the business

An advantage to a PDA Phone is the convience of not carrying seperate devices. If you are searching for a PDA Phone, there are several resources for you to consider:
