I am in the the Chattanooga area and my phone last week started to show a Red EV icon at the top of my V3M. Just wonderd what it means?

It means it has found an EVDO data connection. (Not necessarily using it) It's a 3G standard for CDMA networks. You won't get charged extra for seeing it there, but if you do use it there is a chance you will. Check your carrier before doing any browsing on EVDO =P

If you have Cricket unlimited internet for $5 or have a plan that includes it your on a thing called the World Wide Web. Thought the web browser on a V3 is limited. You can still see the mobile sits hreat. like m.yahoo.com m.ebay.com etc

If you don't use it you'll lose it  Use it all you want. Your paying for it.

Maybe the data authentication on your phone is broken. I'd try reprogramming and if that doesn't work, call your carrier to reprovision your data feature. It's the way VZW works but I wouldn't assume the same for every CDMA carrier.

Id suggest changing your prl back to a non-evdo prl like 1042. Ive had customers with razrs come back to me from time to time saying that their mms stopped working and each and every time it was cuz they dialed *228 for some reason or another and got a evdo prl but as soon as I change it back to 1042 their mms works flawlessly again.

First thing you should try is to do an OTA.
That's when yo dial *228.
That will reprogram your phone with the latest settings.
Reboot your phone after, and try it again.
If that doesn't work, then call cricket.
