just curious, my girlfriend is on her 4th pearl now. all of them have been sent back because of manufacturer defects. 1: camera quit working, 2: the damn buttons on the side never worked.

now since she is on her 4th phone in the last 4 months, shouldn't she be able to get the 8120 or something damn near free because of all the crap she has endured from this? the 8100 seems like its freakin junk. i am looking for them to give her the better phone, or just simply not send a refurb POS.

looking for some input from a t-mo rep here.
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ I feel her pain. I had 3 8100's last year. First 2 died after upgrades. The last one still works but it decided to start sending me yahoo invites from contacts I already added. If the phone is still under warranty I would take it in and demand an alternative exchange.
 
My suggestion would be to go to a different store and try your luck there. I've never had a problem with my pearl, and it's been beaten up over time it still works.

hi the same thing happened to me when the pearl first came out,7 refurbs all POS also,i have 10 phones with att,and finally after 7,told them look send me a new pearl or im taking all 10 phones somewhere else i have no contract,talk too then nice,they have rules too follow,anyway got new pearl overnite on them.
 
she has gotten the 3 before overnight. i think the problem she is the one who is calling them to get the new phone and she is for a lack of a better way to put it, a retarded doormat. she gets walked on and doesnt know what to say.

i didnt know if there was a precidence for this, like if after a set number, they do this. if and when the tmobile rep shows up in here, i would be curious to see what he says.
 
I got T-Mobile and actually im waiting for them to send me my phone I just made the claim Saturday. But what is funny is right after I made the claim now everytime I log on to my T-Mobile it shows that I have a curve not an 8100 so im gonna laugh if they sent me a curve. UPGRADE
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~on my tmobile you can change the phone it shows to whatever you want the exchange system will be the phone you actually use unless they said it was an alternate when you processed it will be another 8100

For the atctual multiple or alternate exchange you have to do 3 exchanges in I belive 30 days before they send an alternate or a non refurbished device buts that's a lot of exchanges in a short time I will have to check to see if an alternate is avail for the 8100 but it never hurts to ask if an alternate is avail sometimes they may not offer it as a choice unless you ask
 
well if its 4th pearl in 4 months and it was all done through warranty you can request an alternate exchange they have a lst of devices that they can switch it out for, not sure about the 8120 but definately give it a shot
 
Exactly. I went thru 2 7105t's starting 2 years ago (March 2006-January 2007). Took me 2 hours in store (store rep got hung up on 3 times from the warehouse I believe) but I finally left with an 8100 being shipped to me 5 days later. I had been offered another 7105t, a Dash and something else (I forgot what else).

By the way, I solved the Yahoo problem I mentioned in my previous post. It seems as if Yahoo Messenger via PC doesn't recognize contacts I added via BB (and vice versa). I logged in on my PC and saw the same people sent requests that I approved on my BB.
 
I have had quite a few BB's and thank God I haven't had major issues with any one of them. It has the most stable OS I have seen on the market, really sorry to hear your GF has issues with it. Hope this glitch doesn't make her move away from a BB
