Hello all
im interested in looking for a phone that i can use MAINLY for use of AIM and some email
i will use some web, but not much
like i said, mainly for chatting

i dont care for cameras

i am not sure how these work but when i was browsing around the forum i saw alot of things which i didnt understand.. so many different types of connections and net extensions that i dont know which is the best
i suppose i want wifi since i will be away from my house
Which provider has the best type of connection for phones to the web?
I havent read into phones lately and whenever i do i feel so confused with all the acronyms that are out right now
i guess what im looking for is a phone that has a type of keyboard on it that is comfortable and easy to use, a good (fast) connection to the web and a nice screen
thanks in advance

ps: are these connections to the web at all secure?

which provider are u you with or thinking about getting? For cingular like Supraskyline said get get the cingular 8125. If T-mobile get the mda same as teh 8125 but cingular branded.

yah, i have cingular

this Cingular 8125 looks real nice
does anyone have experience with it?

what is EDGE, is it good?
will i be able to easily transfer files and play it on this 8125?

how is cingulars service with offering web? my contract with cingular is up and i can go to any other carrier - and money isnt a big issue
thanks guys!

another thing
i really like the Cingular 8125
what kind of memory does it take? what is its max?
would it be easy to trasnfer some movies/songs from the pc onto this and play??

I have not used the 8125 so I can't comment on it. EDGE is a "high speed" data bearer for the GSM (Cingular/T-Mobile in the US) networks. It can peak above 200k bits per second, but typically it is about as fast as dial-up. It's not as fast as 3G or the CDMA EV-DO networks (Sprint and Verizon), but it is an improvement of the GPRS data bearer for GSM. Cingular is rolling out 3G service in selected markets. It can go as high as 2 Mbps. Right now the LG CU320 and Samsung SGH-ZX10 support Cingular's 3G service.

Tango Uniform

On my E61, I get Edge speeds what Verizon DSL speeds has. It's a really fast alternative to Wifi. And the 8125 is a great phone. Accepts miniSD, 2 GB max, nice device. I'd suggest going with the unlimited data plan for 20 bucks a month. Its really nice.

45 is a bit pricey isnt it?

anywho - i went ahead and ordered the 8125
should be here in 10 days
i cannot wait!!

anything i should know about this phone prior to use??
!

Scroll down a bit and you'll find it. It works with all phones.

MEdia Net Unlimited $19.99 per month

Somewhere aroudn the forums, probably the Pocket PC section, theres an app to overclock the 8125 to make it even faster. Ill keep you posted if i find it.

yes you can view sites. your really not suppose to be using this because you have a 8125 with they consider a pda/phone. Where did you order from?

i ordered from CINGULAR sales and i got the 8125 for 299

but i said i wanted the unlimited net for the phone and they told me it was 40 bucks

what should i do?
