Phone for the lady's birthday?!?!

I like phones, but when it comes to FINDING good phones, and ones that work with AT&T, I am a bit challenged. Anyway, my budget is 200 and under... May perhaps (since I love her so much ) go a bit over. I am looking for a nice phone for her, she normally just makes phone calls to me, and takes a couple pictures (rarely), but she does like the LG CU500 (little pricey online, can't find it in some online stores (letstalk.com for example) and haven't called around local stores) she told me, and she liked the music player on the front. She hates bar phones (*cough* my loyal Nokia 6682 for example...), so it has to be flip, slide, whatever... So if you have any suggestions for a nice phone, that isn't bar, with an external music player, and what not. Please tell me!

this link might help. Personally I've noticed that ladies like samsung; however, for me it will take some time to appreciate their popularity

There's the SYNC, the upcoming RAZR2 V9, the N75....I personally love the N75. Might be a little heavy-duty for someone who just makes calls though, and it's a rather large phone. I'm not terribly fond of Samsungs, but in this case the SYNC may be called for.

Is this going to be with new service? Or just upgrading from an exisitng phone?

Yeah, I thought of getting the N75 for myself, and I thought she would like it too, but I haven't told her I am getting her a phone or anything, so I can't ask her what she likes, it's a surprise. If I could find the N75 for buy one get one free, or half off or something, then that would be great.

P.S. Keeping AT&T, just getting an upgrade.

It's a big phone, just to warn you. Not something most women go for...unless she might like it to beat you over the head with? But it's definitely not small.

They're cheap as anything with a new contract...I got mine for $50. But that's through anyone EXCEPT AT&T themselves....Wirefly, Inphonic, Wal-Mart, Amazon, A1Wireless...they all have them much cheaper than AT&T does. AT&T wants $200.

Anyway, if all she's doing is music, photos, and calling, the SYNC might work better, so long as the RF is good enough (meaning you need to have strong signal in your area). The N75 is a full-fledged Symbian S60 Smartphone and might be too complicated.

But it's just so MUCH fun to play with if one is a tech-head.

Doesn't SE have a new Walkman slider coming out soon? W5-something-i or whatever? ANd I think the LG Trax is supposed to be out sometime this quarter too.

Hit me on the head :P , I hope I don't make her that mad. How big is it in the hand? Or compared to a credit card? I have a S60 phone and she fiddles with mine a lot, so I would imagine she would get the OS right off the bat. I was originally planning on buying a N95 for myself, but the price is a little out of my range (without a doubt I think it's worth it, just don't have that kind of money), but enough about my N95 obsession. I doubt she would like the U600. Any other suggestion's? Maybe some for me too? I plan on upgrading both our phones at the same time perhaps? So I am thinking a buy one get one free deal online or locally? So I get a free one till the N95 gets in my reach!!!

I'm going to suggest either the Samsung SYNC, LG CU500 *as you stated* or a RAZR. Check out Wal-Mart also when you go to purchase a phone, I have found them to be alot cheaper. Same with eBay. Also check out walmart.com

It's as wide as a credit card and about a quarter-inch longer...FOLDED. The microphone is in between the control pad and the keypad, just to keep it close to the mouth: the phone is too long to put it at the end because it'd be too far away.

I was going to say a Red Blackberry Pearl, but that's just me. I would love it if my girl would get on the Blackberry Bandwagon

She doesn't like Blackberry's. I am thinking just the CU500, but I can't find it for decently cheap, and I am not much of an ebay guy... Anyone know an online store that has really cheap cell phones, or great deals all the time to save money?

Letstalk.com has the N75 for 99.99 with 2 year contract and the CU500 for 219, I was thinking of ordering just the CU500 phone and the 2 year extension for the N75 so we both get phones. That a good idea. How do I qualify for a 2 year extension? Also, I meant to ask you something about the N75 but I forgot...

Also, about the N75, it says it's a shy bit smaller than the N95, so I don't think size is a big issue, and I don't think it is really that big, maby looks big cause it's thin. But I saw N95 videos and I liked the size of it.

Just a comment, I had the CU on Cingular wireless now AT&T, and it's a cool phone, I even thought on keeping it; however, after two weeks I bought a earpiece, and the volume was really low. I don't know if the volume be better using a bluetooth ear piece, but overall I found it a nice phone with that one detail that broke the deal, funny cause the call quality was the best I've ever heard.
I also noticed mostly females use this phone, (no offense to all you gals) so that also killed it for me.
