Phone broke in middle of an argument need help?

Guy I like and I are arguing over text touch screen stops working. I get 4 messages dont know what they say I really want to know so we can solve this problem.
Should I write him on facebook?
Use another friends phone?
Next time I see him ask to talk in person?
Any suggestions?
