Phone Advice (Service with Cingular)

I am looking to buy a new phone, and am willing to spend around $400-500 for it, and was wondering if you all could shed some light on a few "hot" phones. I am looking for a phone that has a TransFlash Slot, Music Player, Does not need 850 band (live in Chicago and 1900 coverage is pretty good), dont care about Candy Bar, or flip, but I have never had a Candy Bar, so I am leaning in that direction. I just bought the VZW Razr, so the V3i, while intriguing is not something I too interested in. Also where is the best place to buy one of these phones, Wireless Imports, Ebay?

It will be used with a new 3g Cingular SIM card if that makes a differnece.

Any other things I should be looking for on a phone?

Thanks for your help

How about the Motorola Slvr L7? It uses transflash cards, has a music player, and is a candy bar phone. You can probably find one on eBay for about $300-$400 usd. Are you looking for a phone with a megapixel camera or is a simple vga camera good enough? The L7 only has a basic vga camera.

If you don't mind using memory sticks instead of transflash cards, the Sony Ericsson K750i and W800i are good choices too. These 2 phones have good megapixel cameras and are candy bar phones too.

Thanks for the response, I don't care too much about having a good camera, however, I do like a very intuitive and fluid interface (I have never used a SE phone, and have no idea what the UI is like). Also, I heard that it is possible to get the L7 with iTunes is this still an options.

Thanks again, for the quick response

The Motorola V635 might be another phone you could look into. It has an MP3 player, a TF slot, and a 1.3 MP camera. It is a flip phone in case you are really set on a candy bar phone.

Even though your coverage using 1900 is good, I would still advise against having a phone without the 850 band in the US. What if you travel to a 850-only area or if Cingular starts converting your 1900 towers to 850 towers?
