I sometimes have small bits of phlegm in my mouth. I often feel as though there is a wad of phlegm in my lower throat or upper chest. I try to cough it up, but it does not work. Hot drinks or hot showers or breathing steam does not help. Eliminating dairy is not the answer, either. My voice is often affected. I had my thyroid out a year ago. Could there be scar tissue making me feel as though I had a blockage there? I have no allergies that I know of. Due to a liver problem, which in turn caused bleeding in my esophagus, I have an exam every six months or so. I wonder if the tube being put down my throat has caused damage. Anyone have any ideas?? Sure would appreciate the help.
