Phantom~Requiem for the Phantom-Talkback

And no, this is not Noir 4.

With FUNi streaming the episodes on the day they come out in Japan, I guess it's about time for a talkback.

This show is very intriguing and I mean it. It's got mystery, drama and some really cool action. I also really, really, like Ein's seiyuu because she pulls off a very, very convincing "moe" voice when she's undercover and a souless "Rei-type" voice normally. Four episodes are already up on FUNi's site and I look forward to more.

(It's about time we got a male protagonist who doesn't whine half the time about killing....well, there was Lelouch )

WARNING: ED is sung by Ali Project (facepalm) I skip it every time....(The images are very pretty though. Zwei shooting a dog while smiling? That's dark)

BTW, in episode 4, they played the freaking fight music from "The Matrix." You know, the one that they used for the Neo vs. Smith's park fight? And that's what sold me on the show!

Wait, these guys got the rights to play "Burly Brawl"? Awesome sauce. Juno Reactor deserves more props. Then again, JR has some ties to the anime industry so somehow I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I hope so, considering that I never really liked Noir. Volume 1 was one of my earliest DVD purchases once upon a time and I wasn't motivated to keep going.

Will take a look at it this evening or on the weekend. I hope the buzz is true and that this manages to overcome the typical Bee-Train issues.

What, no Saji x Feldt jokes?

Well...I'd say that's because he was already broken. As annoying as whining is, it's a sign of humanity.

Yes, I've ended up sitting through the whole thing through just because of the images. The OP is still superior overall though.

Now that you mentioned it everything makes sense now. They've used that a couple of times by now too.

The first episode might make you think otherwise, but this is so much better than Noir, one or two scenes aside, that, four episodes later, I'd say my early fears have been laid to rest.

There are still a couple of things that make me say "Oh Bee-Train, why did you have to do that?" but the core of the story has survived intact. I might even argue episode four was an improvement over the game's equivalent scenario.

Episode 6 is up. (really why isn't everybody watching this? Okay, besides regional codes and all that )

-I really thought the mass assassination scene was awesome. Though it felt kind of slow since you didn't really know how important they were to the crime families, they were just there to show Ein and Zwei kicking ass....not that there's anything wrong with that of course. Weird, this is like the first series in which I am thinking the killers are awesome. (Well, there was Lelouch....and Light....)

-Fanservice Ein is fanservice-y....

-I really hate Scythe Master with an intense passion. He better die before the series is over.

-Wow! Wow, I cannot believe the amount of internet hate that FUNi is getting because they are putting this up for free. And it's really stupid arguments too like "It's a smaller screen" or "I want it at the same time as Nippon does" (IT'S SAME DAY RELEASES IDIOTS!) I do understand the regional codes and the buffering issues as I can see how that would be annoying but the rest are just whining.
Oh yes, there was a "FUNimation is sooooooooo annoying" in there somewhere but that's irrelevent.
