So... I was in a foolish friends with benefits arrangement with a guy, John, for a year. The arrangement was a bad one, in which I felt I was the victim through a lot of it. However, I liked him, of course, and it was hard to get away from the arrangement. Still, it got really bad, so I left him, letting him know I was leaving him for another guy, not specifying who it was.
7 days later, I made my new boyfriend, Bob, Facebook official. A year ago, I had turned down John when he had been actually interested in dating me, because I was waiting for Bob to come back from his yearlong trip in France. (Bob and I had been dating for four months prior to him leaving.)
7 days later after leaving John, my friend w/ benefits, I find out he had deleted his Facebook.
About 2 months ago, he said he would do that because of privacy issues. Furthermore, he wasn't a huge Facebook user, and when I had gone on a break with him for 3 weeks, he didn't log in at all. The timing seems too coincidental for John to delete right then, though.
Do you think John saw my new relationship status with Bob? (Three friends John lives with are my friends on Facebook, and they may have seen my relationship status, and told him.) Is him seeing my relationship why he deleted? Or was it simply a contributing factor to other reasons for deleting?
