Yes, it is sad, but so is growing up, I guess, but we all do it at some point because adulthood has its pros just as childhood.

I really think the young actors did well with this movie. I thought they fit the roles, too, and I was so happy to see the boy playing Peter all grown up on Friday Night Lights (one of my favorite tvshows). I'm glad he's getting more work.

Hmm. When I first watched it, on DVD, I liked the alternate ending myself.

Love this movie. Need to watch it again soon because I have only seen it that one time and I feel deprived! :bawl:

oh my how happy am i that they didnt choose thw alternative ending it was extremly lame

and the whole thing about peter pan is the parents are not supposed to let you go hahah

This was a movie that I wasn't going to buy...and then I grabbed it on impulse....

Man, am I glad I did!!! It was great! the kids were awesome, and It was sweet, and sad, and scary....

I recommend it very highly!!

(Jason Isaacs-dual role....very good)

I love it too, Bella!

Th ending is always so sad. This tale is so effective in capturing the stages of how accepts and deals with getting older and leaving childhood innocence behind.

anyone know where I can find the avatar of peter and wendy and the wording says "Can I kiss You"??? I'm looking all over the boards for it but can't find it :(

I watched the Alternate Ending again last night because I was making caps of it for a friend. I still think it was definitely a scene that Jeremy's acting skills came through. Thank goodness they didn't add in the music for that scene cause that song, "Peter's Return" makes me emotional anyway.

I bought this movie a few months ago. I think its the best adaptation of Peter Pan I've ever seen. (Well, to be fair, its pretty easy to knock down a Disney cartoon movie and Hook, which wasn't really a faithful adaptation of Peter Pan's story) But I think it captures the ages of the characters well, the whole being on the edge of childhood and adulthood, and making the decision between staying a child or growing up. I can't help but get sad at the end though, with Peter outside the window and how the narrator says he forgot them all. :(

I guess it's just a matter of taste...:look:

I like the alternate ending, because it is the way the book ended...and It is the way I always picture the story ending.

But that's just me...:D

Oh my God, I loved that movie soo much! Jeremy Sumpter was a great actor in that movie and I think he hit the nail on the head with his portrayal of Peter. I loved it. I want to go buy the DVD, but at the moment, I'm broke.

Maybe I'm a little obsessed, but I can't stop thinking of the movie. I thought the whole thing was great. I thought the whole dynamic between Wendy and Peter was terrific. They're both great actors and thier emotions really showed through in the movie.

I am now a Peter/Wendy fan and I'm happy. :)

Agreed. It really wouldn't have worked for the movie, IMO. The ending they went with was much better.

What was the alternate ending, again? Sorry.

I loved this movie, but it depressed the hell out of me. I didn't expect it to be as compelling and visually alluring as it was. I really enjoyed it.

Are you sure?? I don't think so....::checks IMDB::

No, it's Olivia Williams...she was Bruce Willis' wife in the Sixth Sense. Hector's wife is Saffron Burrows, she was the older Nan in Circle of Friends.
