Petco Grooming Services.?

How much is the full service grooming at Petco? It doesn't say on the website.

And are they good? Do they do a good job on dog grooming? I don't want to go there and get a crappy job done on my 8 month old puppy.
By the way she is a pomeranian and her hair is starting to get long.

I went to PetSmart and got her the puppy cut. Plus she was a little matted, so there was an extra charge for that, but in total it all came to $26, and they did a great job. Idk if you have a PetSmart near you, but I would recommend them any day.

I'm not sure how much it costs, but they should give you a quote if you call your nearest store.

I've only used Petco to trim a foster dog's nails (I'm not experienced doing so and I didn't want him to develop a negative association with the event). They only charged me $6.

Pomeranians have a very thick coat that is difficult to manage. If you wanted a specialized cut, you should go to a specialty groomer. Otherwise, you can just ask for a trim or a "puppy cut." Most groomers are familiar with that (and it's relatively easy to do).

I only use places like Petsmart/Petco for nail trims on my Terrier every once in awhile. I've never been impressed with their attitudes so to speak but it gets the job done, I also don't appreciate the way they handle some of the dogs.

Honestly I find some of the best groomers are with small grooming companies or infact the best groomer I have had is at a vets office.

Personally I find a lot of the Petco/Petsmart grooms are quite shoddy and not worth the money you pay. I've known a few dogs that have come home, cut up. Uneven cuts, just their fur was butchered.

I applied to work there and most of the groomers are just out of groomings school or going to grooming school while working there

I would ask your vet, friends, and other dog owners around you and see who they suggest. Thats the best way to find a good groomer.

Personally I would turn around and walk, no not walk Run from grooming at places such as Petco/Petsmart.

The price depends on the size of the dog. They're not the best, I would suggest you find an independent groomer nearby. Pomeranian are supposed to have long fluffy hair, NEVER and I mean NEVER shave it, it will destroy the coat and it won't grow back properly. Petco has cage drying, which I oppose completely. I went there one time, and I took a peek inside, and I saw at least three unattended dogs in cages being dried. VERY dangerous.
