Persian Owners grooming help?

I just adopted a cat. I'm not sure she's actually Persian. The vet listed her as Domestic long haired but her face is very flat. She was very, very neglected and as far as I can tell, she has never been groomed. Ever. I have a store near me that has both Angel Eyes and Eye Envy. She's a white cat. For the time being, until I can get to the store, I'm just using a wet Q-tip on her eyes but she's about as strong as a Pit Bull all of a sudden when I'm doing this and she's fighting me. Underneath her eyes is absolutely horrible and it's actually going across her nose. It's black under there practically. Is there anything else I can do to clean this up some until I can get to the store on Saturday or Sunday without traumatizing her so bad?
LOL thanks Kia, the cotton ball would make sense except she can't see it..... she's blind.. Ha, I'm fighting a little 11 pound fluffy ball of fur who can't see and is somehow beating me!!

I don't have a Persian, and I can only advise on part of your problem. Instead of using a Q tip, use a cotton ball. There is less of a chance of poking your cat in the eye with it. Since the cat can barely see it, it will freak her out less too. As far as HOW To get rid of the coloration, no clue sorry. But hopefully some Persian owners can help you out :) Best of luck!!

Oh lol, well usually that's part of the reason they freak out :P I starred it so hopefully one of my ever-so-knowledgeable contacts will have some more input for you, my cats are like the easiest little beasts to groom I have ever seen.
