This may be a random question, but I've always been intrigued by street acts and also people who sing or perform/busk.
I think Covent Garden in London and it's not too far for me to get to. I was just wondering about the performers there, either outside the market area, on the streets or in a spot down the steps or in the circle where people can eat. How do they go about it? Do they have to get permission from the council around there and does there act have to get given the go ahead, depending on what it is?
I've heard that even busking in small town, designated places is required to have a permit or something.
It'd be great to hear back from other street performers or those who have any answers. I'd love to perform the saxophone in public at a later stage, if possible. Just to see the reception and what it's like. I imagine many do acts in underground and train stations firstly.
Thanks very much.
