Performance Shocks/Struts for Honda Civic?

Go to autozone or advance auto and tell them your make/model/year and whatever shocks/struts they have on their list will do just fine. Brand new anything is good, racing stuff tends to wear out faster (a lot faster) and doesn't really give you that much of a boost and costs a lot more. Trust me, just getting brand new shocks/struts will make a ton of difference, you don't need performance.
 
I am considering replacing the stock shocks/struts on my 2002 Honda Civic LX. I have been eying the TOKICO HP Series... just not sure if I have to replace the springs as well? Or if I can just upgrade the shocks/struts? Also, any recommendations for other performance shocks to consider?
