perception of someone who never asks how you are?

There's a person who over years was a casual friend (not very close). We would meet to hang out once in awhile. She would talk about herself and life which was great for catch up. However, she would never ask me over the years how I was.
I guess she may not be as interested as me, but wouldn't it be common courtesy to ask how someone is anyway?
