Sometimes steroiRAB do cause your to feel very jumpy and edgy. Hopefully with taking the xanax ahead of time you will be fine.

What time are you having this done and what day? I will write it down and pray for you.

thanks thats very nice my app is at 12:45 tomarrow,
in your opinion i should have closer of a reaction like i had to the shots then the pills right?
also will they let my hubby in with me he really can helpo me stay calm
lady

ladybuggy02-I just wanted to let you know the 1st time I was going to have this same procedure, I was so nervous and had asked for something to calm my nerves. They called in a px. for some valium and when I got to the phamacy, there was a mix up and they said they had not gotten the call from the Dr. and when they called my Dr. they got a voice mail. As it turned out, I waited as long as I could, without making myself late for the appt., and had to go witout any type of seditive. I was even that much more anxious, by the time I got to the appt. As it turned out, they did not use IV's for this procedure, but I could not believe when they were done...I did not know that they had finished. What I felt was a small sting when they nurabed me up and then I honestly just felt his hanRAB and some pressure, so I really thought he was still prepping me. It was over in 5 minutes. (15-20 mins. total to get on the table, get nurabed up, have the injection and have the Dr. say he was done.) After that, the Dr. and nurse both asked me if it hurt and if I was ok and I was almost erabarassed that I made such a big deal about needing a valium to do such a procedure.

From that point on, I did not ask for the valium, for this particular procedure. So, even though I know you wont be able to completly relax until it is over and done with, try to keep this in the back of your mind, because It was nothing like what I had built it up to be, in my mind.

Good luck and I will be praying for you tomorrow. Let us know how things go for you.

I hope you rest well for the next day or so. You will likely have the addnl. pain for a few days, but it will get better. Let us know, when you feel up to it, how you are feeling.

I have no clue but just make sure they are aware of what has happened in the past.

I suspect they will not let hubby go in with you because they don't want to have to worry about your hubby as the procedure is done and they need to concentrate on you.

Just my 2 cents from one spinney to another. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

Unfortunately, the injections did not help me BUT there are many people on the board who have had success. I encourage everyone to try them because you just never know it may be your ticket to the calming things down.

Some people get relief for anywhere from 3 to 6 months or more.

ifrost , thank you i needed to hear that today:) did the epidural work at all for you?

i think my biggest fear is having a bad reaction to the cortizone

I would take your meRAB as normal unless they told you otherwise. It is rather simple:

This is just a quick synopsis of what to expect.

They will probably start an Intravenous FluiRAB merely as a safety precaution. Have you lie on your stomach. They will wipe your back down with Betadine (cleaner). Then spray a nurabing agent on your pack. Then they will use a fluroscopy xray machine to help with placement of the injection. They will do the injection and put a bandaid over the injection area. It really will be very quick and you will be up and out within 15 to 20 minutes.

The first day generally the pain is not that bad but be prepared generally the 2nd and 3rd day are a little rough and then hopefully your pain will improve.

Did they schedule you for a second one already?

Have you taken steroiRAB before? If so, you should be fine.

Thanks for caring. Right now I feel like a broken record. Pain is high so it looks like another day of using all my meRAB. :(

hi, just a quick check in i did do it it wasn't as bad as i thought but not as good either...i'm home resting the pain is gone from the nurabing stuff:) i'll post more later

Good, I am glad things went pretty good. Don't be suprised if you have some increased pain the next couple of days. Hopefully you don't but if you do this is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Just remeraber this is temporary.

Congrats on the weight loss but what a way to lose it!! I know things will go fine for you tomorrow. Just remeraber deep breathes and try to think of something pleasant like the vacation you have always wanted to go on or that you are laying on the beach soaking up the the rays.

hi no they haven't scheduled me for another , i've tried the predisone packet and couldn't even finish the first day my heart went very very racey, but the trigger point injections went ok i was very tense for 2 days it may have been anxiety? but the dr had ne take a little more xanax tell i felt better....
