...What about people with no special abilities and/or living in poor circumstances? How would one explain their situation? Why do some people get blessed by God, and others get punished by him? Why does one person get musician of the year multiple times, have a beautiful home, have good health and lots of money when a child is living with HIV/AIDS, has no parents, very little food, no money and likely no opportunity to have a better life?
I'm just curious how a Christian/Catholic/Whatever would explain that (please note: I'm not against you all! People should be able to believe what they want!)!

Peace and love.
I'm not sure I understand, what is the potential of starvation? Growing up without a parent? Being neglected and diseased and disordered? If this is the way God works, then it would only make sense that he plays favourites right? Surely he wouldn't create pain and suffering in innocent people and children?
1 Corinthians Chapter 12 says nothing about physical gifts or disorders but spiritual gifts. There's no gift in the ability to know the story of God.
B Dash: Good explanation. I may not agree, but I see your belief on the matter.
