People are telling me not to test ovulation strips with first morning urine? why though?

I had read that its best to test from 2pm-7pm as that might give you a more exact answer. Tesing first thing in the morning the pee has a much higher level LH hormones and might give you a postive ovulation result when its actually a NEGATIVE. It might give you a FALSE postive. Its takes about 4 hrs after you first wake up(after your first morning pee) to actually get a REAL ovulation result.

It is because fmu can be very concentrated and give false positives, the afternoon reading is the best time because you typically have a spike in LH hormones. But it you got a positive i would say it was right

if you get a positive with fmu it IS a genuine positive. the only reason you are told to use afternoon pee (between 2pm-5pm is best) is purely because LH is synthesised by the body during the afternoon so you are very likely to miss your surge when testing with fmu and get false negatives.
good luck hun really opk's have always worked for me with fmu but i do 2 a day so one with fmu and one about 4 pm (try to hold your pee a couple of hours) xxx

that is when ur supose to test ovulation strips first thing in the mouring it has the most hormon in it so whoever told u that lied to you

Here is the CORRECT answer.

OPKs are looking for the LH hormone. Your LH surges in the morning. It takes about 4 hours for it to register in your urine, so morning pee is too early. You will get a false NEGATIVE. The best time to test for your LH surge is late morning... between 11am and up to 2pm.

Good luck.
