People Against Cartoons

It happens. Always. Parents, officals, censors, do-gooders, everybody. How have people ruined cartoons? We have little action, boring show and bad blocks. And no commercials for junk food! No cereal! Does anyone have examples of this, such as articles? It should be intersting.
 
There was a post inside the "How Long Will You Watch Cartoon For?" thread that said that there was a book of "things not to do after you are 30" and one of them was watch cartoons without a child present.
 
Cartoons doing things that couldn't be done in live-action has been ruined. I haven't seen much of that stuff since Looney Tunes.

Anyway, as for censorship, I think that Spongebob has been attacked enough. He isn't gay, according to continuity. And even if he was...WHO GIVES A *BLEEP*?

It's like with Bert and Ernie. You can accept the gayness, or ignore it. It's all in your imagination.
 
While i love live action ("The Matrix" and "V for Vendetta" remain at the top of my favorite movies), it can sometimes be depressing. But when im watching cartoons, no matter what mood im in, i feel better.

You just cant be sad when Flapjack is on TV.

Hmm, I thought action cartoons were a big thing right now.

And can we really be sure that it's "do-gooders" who are to blame, and not people involved in the actual creation of cartoons?

IMO of all the things you mentioned I think advertisments have been attacked the most. Ads during Saturday morning cartoons, or all cartoons for thatvmatter have really changed since the early to mid 90's. McDonalds ads have taken the biggest hit. These days we get to kids kung fu fighting over a mcnuggget while back in the day we had a bunch of mcnuggetts who talked and did cool things with Ronald McDonald and his friends, it was fun. Cereal commercials will never be the same again either :(
 
Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon air pretty much just the comedy cartoons, FOX and CW only have action cartoons on Saturday and while Boomerang and Toon Disney have a better portion of action cartoons they aren't widely available channels.
