Pedal MIDI input from yamaha DGX 620 to logic studio pedal problem?

Hi

I have a problem. I have just got Logic studio (that's not the problem it's fantastic) and I am doing my first bits of MIDI recording. When I play the keyboard it is responding to the pedal but when I listen back to the recording it is all clipped like it just isn't recording the pedal.

how can I get it to record the pedal
