Pearl Warranty with Tmo

Just wondering,
I recent just bought a black pearl from craigslist.com from some guy.
I simply love the pearl, but without noticing when he gave me the phone, the top is stratched. and the trackball gets stuck and the speaker phone cracks really bad, and when im getting a call, it sometimes freezes.
so im wondering, would tmo send me a new pearl even tho i never bought the phone through them?
and do you think they would charge a decuctible?

No,T-Mobile wouldn't replace or ensure a device you didn't purchase from them.

The only way you'd get a Pearl from them is if you bought a new one.

You should always take the time to fully examine any product you buy, especially if it was off of craigslist. It doesn't seem like there's much you can do in this case. Good luck with it.

Umm. Yes you can, however, it's a little tricky.

First, call them up to release the IMEI, then confirm with them that the IMEI is associated with your account. Thank them and hang up.

Second, call them back and ask to be connected with the insurance department and ONLY say that you're interested in putting insurance on the phone. Say you want the $5.99 policy.

You then have insurance for your phone. If you should need a replacement if you have "lost" your phone, you will need to pay a deductable of around $110.00.

Best of luck, but next time, thoroughly inspect before you buy. I don't condone this method. Do it at your own risk, as this may not always work.

My BB Pearl is secondhand and this is how I got insurance on it. I have yet to "lose" it.

What if they ask when and where you got the newer phone (new IMEI) from? I don't think they would add it on there if they knew you bought it used.

When you use an unlocked phone it will show up the last phone you used and you could then have them update the IMEI that way.

What exactly do you say when you want them to release the IMEI? Just tell them that your My T-Mobile account isn't showing the correct phone?
