Pearl Jam

Well firstly, I wouldn't say that Pearl Jam are particularly "similar" to Soundgarden and Alice In Chains at all. Pretty damn far apart in sound, really. Pearl Jam's sound is much more classic rock orientated than, well, pretty much all of the other Seattle-sound banRAB. S'garden and AIC were on the metal side of the grunge spectrum.

But yeah, Ten's the best place to start off with. Their new self-titled album is also probably their best release since the mid-nineties.

I must disagree back in those days early in PJ's history it was all aboy the music hell they were in a movie called Singles in 1993 so they didn't completely push anyone away. Even to this day I've never heard an apoligie from anyone in PJ for their past actions so I can't agree with you there simply makeing great music even to this day, not for money or anything like that just for the music.:hphones:

Hi there i need some Pearl Jam Help!

(Im a really new fan)

I own the - Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003 CD and i like most of the songs on the 1st disc = The Rocking! songs:

What other Pearl Jam albums would you recomend = Studio + Live

Please could you also Recomend Simliar BanRAB !

( Apart from Soundgarden + Alice in Chains )

first off can we chill with the little head-phones icon? you use that in nearly every post..

but im not gonna try to persuade your opinion, just remind you that these people are human beings-who want money...

if they were really so anti-coporate they wouldn't have needed to play stadiums...or sell worthless merchandise.

i dont blame nirvana as much seeing as how courtney started selling the rights(i was sad when i heard a nirvana song had been used in csi)
these people are capable of making their own decisions..and im pretty sure they all chose the lifestyle their living now

My fave is probably either "Rearviewmirror", "Not For You" or "Footsteps". Vs. is my fave album, though. Oh, and I have the live version of "Release" that opened the Toronto show I was at a few years ago, and it's unbelievable.

I think I owe you a big I"M SORRY because I remebered that Kurt Cobain talked bad about PJ and referred to them as commercial sell-outs..My bad, dude no hard feelings.

I'm sure most of y'all who got this self-titled album will agree with me about how awesome it is. This record has some of the best rockers in years on it, and some top quality slow tracks to boot.

My personal favourites are Life Wasted and Unemployable. I just LOVE these two songs.

What do others who have this album think of it, and what are your favourite tracks off it?

Just how naive ARE you?!

People have GOT to wake up, for HEAVEN'S SAKE!

Anybody, any band, and that means ANY, who are signed to a MAJOR label, are trying to make lots of money out of their music. That doesn't mean they're COMPLETELY in it for the money, but part of the reason for their being in the mainstream commercial music industry is so their product is marketed better and hence they make loaRAB more money out of it than they would've done otherwise.

The idea that money is no motivation for such artists at all is among the most ridiculous, absurd things anybody could ever think.
