pearl 9100 3G

I inquired with tmo re the 3G Pearl, only to learn that they are planning to discontinue the Pearl :-( maybe they need some feedback?
 
They are discontinuing the 81xx Pearls, because they are phasing out the BB's with trackballs. The 3G Pearl will be the new replacement Pearl. No word on which carrier will get it though.
 
Hi Pdx, just to let you know I have pre -ordered the new Pearl - I suspect it Will arrive in UK in June, and I'm first on line for one. Can't wait to get it...
 
I suspect it will be at the same time, more or less. If I get it sooner, I'll post a write-up about the toy ! It looks like an ideal shirt pocket phone that will be easy and light to carry. Then, I will give the 9700 a rest... I hope the new Pearl lives up to expectations.
 
Just to clarify, tmo US declared that they are discontinuing ANY Pearl, 9100 included. (unless, of course, there is well articulated demand for the 3G Pearl.
 
That's interesting. Do you know where you got that information because I was under the impression that TMO might be one of the carriers to get this.
 
I found this article that there is a rumor that TMO may not get the 9100 as kmwittko has mentioned. That's a real shame and doesn't make good business sense to me. thats really dumb- the pearl was the sh1t back in the day-- i still have my 8120- why wouldnt tmo want this device? or why not go for the 3g pearl and 3g curve!!
 
Man, and T-mobile was the carrier who launched the Pearl. Now they are going to discontinue this once hot device. See other carriers are putting out better devices, not just At&t with the iphone, but Verizon has the Driod, incredible and eris. Sprint has the Evo, and T-mobile only had the HTC HD2 which won't be upgradeable and possibly the last device for WINMO 6.5.

I do have to say that the HTC HD2 is once nice device, I am conidering it on the Even more plus plan but I am still under contract with at&t.
