pea sized lump near naval

Uh this isn't a a huge concern of mine..till I told my mom and she got worried but:
Aproximatry 1 inch and a half to the right of my belly button i have a pea sized lump imbeded below the skin. From manipulating it it feels fairly solid yet a bit fleshy, I suppose i can compare it to the feeling of cartilage. I feel absolutly no pain normally from it, I've tried squeezing it before and it didnt really hurt (I know dumb move on my part but again it didn't hurt it hasn't concerned me). I've had it for im guessing...5-6 months now from what I remember, again absolutly no pain, no change in size. I've looked up things fitting the discription of 'small lump near belly button' and keep getting either hernia or some type of cancer...but being only 15 years old, I'd hope those aren't possibilites. It isn't attached to the skin wall or organs from what i feel, I can grasp the entire sphere shape with my fingers within the skin, near the interior of the membrane. Leaning back it sticks out just a bit, barely noticable. Any ideas are appreciated before I panic. If there are any relivant questions that you could use for some type of diagnosis feel free to ask(assuming it's appropriate). Thanks ahead of time..

It just sounds like a cyst to me. I wouldn't worry about cancer. Cancer has no uniform shape so if it's just in a little ball you can smush around in your fingers I'd say you're good.

Still, you should get your Dr to take a look at it. Do you know if it's grown at all?

From when I noticed it, and forgot to tell my doctor..., and to this point from what I can tell there's been no significant growth...if there were any minimal changes I'm obviusly not aware. Basicly I noticed it when it hit that pea size and it's been that way since.

A cyst is basically a fluid build up or something of the sort, right? Otherwise from the feeling of it I was wondering about a possible tumor, not sure if there's a standard size on that. Someone from my age group had a larger one on her shoulder and had it removed simply, mentioned it being fatty tissue or something of the sort, not sure how accurate that is.

Again thanks for the feed back, we're working on a date for the doctor and we'll give some ideas and figure this mystery out. =/
Worst comes to worst we get a scan so...ya. XD

You could have a small hernia. The belly button is a common area to have hernia's. These can be easily repaired, and should be taken care of early.

You may want to avoid excessive exertion, lifting, straining, sports...until you are seen by your doctor. if you have a hernia, it is not an emergency situation, so you have time to have a proper diagnosis, and treatment, without worrying yourself to death in the mean time.
