I need a new phone. I was using a blackberry (some older model) and it was useful in providing a time scale to me as everything was recorded in the same screen, messages, calls, etc, and the sequence of events was very useful. I have a bad case i guess you would call it of ADD, it is so bad that I am unable to function in basic living demands. Add that with college, I'm drowning. I was getting by, the blackberry helped alot when i introduced it believe it or not, becuase it gave me a time line of events and helped me manage what was going on, becuase i have ZERO perception of time. 40 minutes could go buy and it would feel like 10. The blackberry crapped out on me and stopped getting reception, pressed for a easy phone solution, I went to best buy, picked up a cingular go phone (the small black candybar) and put my simcard in it, I've been using this for roughly 2-3 months. I need something that has an excellent daily organizer. Something that syncs to microsoft outlook perhaps? I would like the purchase the iPhone as I see that to be a great solution to my problem at hand, however i already hold a contract (in a family plan with my family) and although the $599 is a little high for the 8gig, the added cost of the 2yr plan and everything makes it just outside of my price range. I'd be willing to pay 5-600 for something that had that many features, but then again the nonremovable battery is something I'd be concerned about because this device would be on me from the moment i get out of bed to the moment i go to bed, in which is sits on the charger while i sleep. I kill batteries.
my friend just picked up the blackjack, I was overall impressed with its looks, but i wasn't able to really dive into the menus of it. After some research on it, it seems that it lags in multi-tasking (something i would be doing alot, thought to thought to thought) as well WM5 has bug issues that can be irritating. The addition of a music player in the phone doesn't mean anything, i have an Ipod, and the Iphone would be nice to eliminate carrying it around with me all the time. He said the organizer was pretty comprehensive, but again i wasn't able to delve into. If anything at least I need to be able to have 15 minute increments for appointments, too much can happen in a half hour. i won't be using bluetooth, but the additino of it would be nice, I basically need it for 3 things: texting, phone functions, organizer. Those are the 3 highest priorities i have. Anything else is secondary. Internet could be nice, but I wouldn't want something that has a sub-par browser. I'm quite computer saavy, I owned a v635 (it crapped out which caused the introduction of the BB) which i flashed and edited many times successfully, so i'm not a noob per se. The only thing i found extremely negative about the blackjack is the lag it induces, so much that if you type too fast it will simply skip letters. I hated my v635's initial lag that it had out of the box, whcih prompted me to spend countless hours researching flashing and how to fix the problem.
I appreciate any input you guys give me. I would rather ask a general audience for these functions, because The only way to know is by actually using it.
I finish this post with two questions:
1)Would WM6 improve upon the blackjack in anyway?(whcih?) reduced lag? and when does wm6 come out?
2) the i600 is available on myworldphone.com for roughly 5-600 i'm not sure, but it seemed that it upped the ante on the black jack. 400mhz processor, wifi, and the rest of the features of the black jack. This would be a great device for me with the speed and ability for wifi (on campus) and i'm sure it would eliminate the type lag as well. But from what I understand, it operates on different frequencies than what is offered in america. I'm in florida, I have cingular Also- I know nothing about HTC equipment, maybe the solutions in their line of products?
Thanks again for any input, it is truely appreciated, i need to find a solution, and quickly. but for now i must study for the twotests i have this week
