PCV Valve on a 1994 Ford Escort, what would make it get oily so quickly?

There are 2 questions I wanted to ask. FYI: I was having issues with the check engine light going on and off and stalling, once I changed the PCV Valve, coils, and spark plugs it stopped. Now it is about 2 months later and I am having the same exact issue. So my 1st question is: What would make the PCV need changing so quickly? Yesterday, I changed the pcv valve for the second time, no stalling but the check engine light kept going on and off and the car seemed to be pulling a little but when I pushed the hose further down, it stopped. Dont know if it went away though, because I havent driven it again. So my 2nd question is: is it possible for the hose/cable that connects to the pcv to be loose and that is why it is causing me trouble? Please help, this car is giving me a run for my money and draining my pockets! Any advice about this is greatly appreciated! Serious people only, remember, if I was in a position to get another car....I would :) Thanks in advance!!
Its a manual transmission and the engine size is 1.9, and i Dont rev the engine that high :-)
