PC Suite, NSU, and Vista

I just installed it (6.82) on a Vista laptop:
- was able to sync properly several times, no problem
- on the other hand I tried a back up and it hung, but that might be because I was doing a full backup and there is a lot of stuff on my Micro SD card

But I am having some trouble with my CD drive, which also is a USB device. Not sure if it is related or not. I doubt it, but we will see.

At least Nokia PC Suite works on Vista for syncing and is fast, go read what people have had to do just to get the SE PC Suite to run on Vista and all the other problems users have even making it run under XP and its really really slow in comparison. If you think moving to SE and their PC Suite is going to be better out of the frying pan into the fire springs to mind and good luck as you are going to need lots of it.

The interesting thing is that the lifeblog app is more reliable under vista for me than it was under XP

The CD issue was from something else.

So I can say that Nokia OC Suite is working okay for me - on Vista Business. Laptop is CoreDuo 1.83Ghz 1MB RAM. All fine except the backup.

If that's the case I will be getting a Windows Mobile device and not even consider SE.

Just to make sure, there is no other way besides the PC suite to install apps on the phone right?
