I was wondering who would be he best newsgroups is to download PC game demos and patches please?

I tend to find places like Fileplanet and Gamespot too slow, because of their server capping limitations.

Most ISP's have a gaming network unmetered to customers. I must say your ISP's website is terrible with lack on information .
