Pc, bootmgr and media test failure problems?

ok, i was reformatting and then when i finished i got media test failure yadda yadda, then i tried reformatting again then i got bootmgr is missing, i've tried everything. I've tried command prompt bootrec /fixboot but the prompt wont let me space or enter. i tired banging on it, didnt work... help me please. Toshiba laptop

try turning it on and off atleast 3 times, if that doesnt work its broken forever

i guess you are trying to install xp/vista.

i say this because i have encountered such such problems, sometimes xp/vista does not find the drivers for the mouse/keyboard. even on the install disc

the way i have dealt with this is to install win98 then it finds the mouse/keyboard (so you can edit in cmd and in the bios).

THEN! reinstall your o/s.
