Paul McCartney or John Lennon ??

No contest-Lennon easily. McCartney is boring and isn't a patch on the songwriting abilities of Lennon. Also, why isn't this thread a poll? Wouldn't that have been much easier...

It's a damn shame that people have to talk so much about it to this day!!!:nono: Alot of people talking about Kurt seem to talk so much about his death...............With me being a musician and if I happened to die like that, I'm sure Kurt would rather "hear" people talk more about how much they loved the music, instead of talking about his tragic death!!!

If you like an artist, respect them!!!Talking about their death probally won't make them "smile" down at you.
 
Lennon was a Beatle.

Cobain was in Nirvana.

The only people who think that Nirvana were ever as big as the Beatles are sorely, sorely mistaken children, and need to keep quiet on this one and let us old timers tell the story. I witnessed Beatlemania in my childhood. Way bigger than anything Nirvana could have never hoped to be. Cobain didn't want to be a rock star. Cobain's death was ruled a suicide, I don't want to hear your conspiracy theories. Lennon was shot and killed. Hopefully you see the big differences.

Back to the topic, I think they're both incredible songwriters alone, but put together they were the mammoth force that is Lennon & McCartney. This race is a tie.

Because I disagree.
If one single thing could be attributed to the breakup of the Beatles.
It was quarrels between Paul and, all the other Beatles.
By White Album, and even towarRAB the end of the Mystery Tour sessions, Paul played every instrument on every track that he had written.
He felt that all of the others just werent able to play their parts right.
He did Drums, Guitar and Bass, on almost every song he wrote.
This, understandably pissed off the other merabers.
Pauls arguing and bashing the other merabers is most notable on the Let It Be film. And if you have the studio tracks, tou can clearly hear him insult George's guitar playing.
Many times he and George got into arguments.
Which caused George to leave the band.
John was already planning on leaving because he was sick of Pauls insistence that everything be absolutely perfect and he was tired of Paul acting like the "leader" of the band.
Before John made his announcement to leave, Ringo left because he felt "left out"
And Paul ended it just before John decided to make the final "goodbye" to the band
 
Like I said. I think he's that ignorant. LukeM UK seems to be a person who strives to be liked, as he is always apologising and stuff. He wouldn't say something so controversial, it would ruin his reputation. I think he's heard one song, didn't like it, so now he thinks he has the right to say that every song they have made is poor. Whihc he doesn't.
