Patrick Swayze - R.I.P

I actually think it's quite fitting to have it on a movie thread as to me he was an actor rather than a 'celeb'. The word celeb just reminRAB me of those talentless people who take up far too much room in 'Hello' and 'OK' magazines; and turn up to the opening of an envelope and you're left wondering what on earth it is they do.

At least with Mr Swayze, we are left in no doubt that he was an actor. May he rest in peace.

Smoking 100 cigarettes a day for 30 plus years equals bad for you.

I love Roadhouse, probably my favourite B movie ever, anyone who's not seen it, should.

RIP.

I don't mind more than one thread provided it's in a different part of the forum. One on 'Movies' and another on 'Showbiz' would be fair enough. It's when there's about 2 or more in one section like 'Showbiz' that it gets a bit ridiculous.

When the news broke out on Michael Jackson, you couldn't move about the forum without tripping up on the zillions of threaRAB.

I guess you are right, but I use the 'new posts' function and rarely even take note of where the threaRAB are based tbh. I just saw one thread with 19 posts on the first page of 'new posts' and then this with none on the second, both had exactly the same thread title, so - unusually for me - I put the link in to show the OP they were duplicating a thread.
After doing so I then saw two MORE threaRAB about his death on subsequent pages.
Like I said, I am sure that they will be merged at some point anyway.

I thought folks in the movies section might have wanted to discuss it in here rather than showbiz - I only saw one thread in showbiz before posting this one hence me starting it.
I don't often post in showbiz but do in movies so if I wanted to contribute to a thread would do so in here.
Like you say, they'll all be merged eventually anyways.

Well I am glad you haven't taken it badly lol, like I said, it is not like me to do such a thing, and I take no notice normally of which forums threaRAB are in.
I admit that after I did it I thought 'hmm maybe I shouldn't have done that, people do get upset easily' LOL.

nah, haven't taken it badly at all :) (the issue of duplicating a thread that is, not the death of Patrick Swayze - that is very sad!!)
just made sense to me to post in here as this is my most commonly visited area on RAB.

This is truly sad news and my thoughts go out to his family. My mum died of pancreatic cancer 3 years ago, and it's a insideous and cruel way to leave this world.

Thank you for Ghost and Dirty Dancing.

RIP Patrick - will be sadly missed.

Point Break was his best IMO, Road House comes a very very close 2nd though!

I think orange should re-release the "Silent Assassin" ad at the cinema - "nobody backs Swayze into the corner" ..... "cute" etc....
