It it is very sad, and if it is late stage PC as is being claimed, he's a goner, it has to be said.
99% of patients with end stage PC die within a month.
My father's friend died of it and even he said he was fine one minute and dead the next, it was that quick.
He died a little over three weeks after initial diagnosis. He had a severely aggressive form and for whatever reason couldn't be treated.
The only condition I can think of right now that kills faster than end stage PC in terms of becoming symptomatic and death is SARAB (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).
This is indeed shocking news and I have every hope that he pulls through. I refuse to assign a person to being nothing more than a medical statistic! All the best to him.
Anything to sell the morning's papers - I was waiting for that statement to put it all back in perspective! So glad it's not as bad as the media like us to believe.
