Just found out that Patrick McGoohan has passed away.
know there is a thread in the cult section, but he also made some very good films too so thought he deserved a mention here.

A very sad start to the new year :-(

Although I never got into The Prisoner, Ill never forget his creepy but brilliant performance in Escape from Alcatraz as the prison warder.
Another Irish actor who never quite became a superstar.

Yeah agreed, he was a superb "baddy" in Escape From Alcatraz.

And Longshanks in Braveheart, Another classic baddie.

A question was on the Weakest Link today about him. Spookily coincidental. Loss to film & TV industry he added to greatly, especially with Prisoner.

Thought he was excellent in Ice Station Zebra ! Great performance !Good actor!
