Passing an Air Force Drug test?

My best friend is joining the Air Force Reserves he has a meeting with the recruiter within the next week. He use to smoke pot almost everyday. The last time was probably a couple weeks ago when he decided he wanted to change his life. But he's freaking out because he's afraid the Air Force will know and he wants to be able to be stationed overseas once he goes active duty after the reserves. I told him it should be fine because they only do a piss test and as long as he keeps his nose clean and keeps his ass in shape it shouldn't be a problem. Was I correct in my reassurance or am I leading him to get discharged, which would completely fuck his future.
