I've just watched this for the 100th time and i thought i'd come on here and see what everyone else thinks of it. I absolutely love it. I think Macauley Culkin and Seth Green are brilliant in it. I also did a bit of investigating about Michael Alig and it seems he's hoping to be up for parole this year or next. James St James also has an online biog which is updated every day and worth a read. Has anyone read the book 'Disco Bloodbath' on which the film was based or seen the documentary also called Party Monster?
 
Oh dear...I'm sorry but I hate this film. And the book by James St James is utter self obsessed drivel - just horrible. Writing of the worst kind. I couldn't even finish it.

However (and this is what makes Party Monster so disappointing as a movie and novel) is that the book 'Clubland Confidential by Frank Owen (look on Amazon) is flippin fantastic! Read this for the real story of what went on in the NY underground club scene. Peter Gatien is a much much more interesting charater that Alig and the book is very well written. I urge you to read it... :)
 
Love it...Macauly Culkin is fab in this. I am also a huge fan of the new romantic/blitzkid era. Dying to read the book but it has been discontinued and is going for silly money on ebay :rolleyes:
 
I've just watched the documentary 'Party Monster:Shocumentary' which i downloaded today. It's great and worth watching if you've seen the film as you can see loaRAB of real footage like the party in the subway and in McDonalRAB etc. Also has interview with loaRAB of the club kiRAB including Michael Alig from jail. So strange seeing him looking like an average joe.
