Parting out bikes...Looking for advice...

To those out there that have parted out bikes...


Would you do it again?

Is it worth the time and effort to sell each part separately?

How profitable is it? if at all?

How long did it take to sell each part?

What are the pro/cons that you have experianced?

I used to part out bikes as a sort of side job. My opinion is it's not worth it anymore unless you get the bike at a super low price. It used to be a good way to make money. As the internet became a bigger and bigger part of life, more and more people started selling used parts. More competition, lower prices. You can still make a buck, but it's a huge time investment to part out a bike.
 
I know a guy parting out a 749R.. He said it was better than trying to sell the bike. Not sure how successful he has been. It did take time. Taking the bike apart, taking pictures packing and shipping!
