I've been on Paroxetine (20mg) for about 3 months now. Recently I've been forgetting to take it when I'm supposed to. I've never missed more than one dose in a row but I think I've missed 2 or 3 doses in the last 3 weeks. Last night being one of them. When I miss a dose I just wait untill the next day and take it at my normal time at about 7:30 pm. So not having taken it last night, I think I may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I'm getting dizzy when I get up and walk around. This started at about 6 pm tonight, almost 24 hours after my missed dose. So my question is, Is it possible to get withdrawal symptoms after one missed dose? I may have even had 2 missed doses this week, just not in a row.

I know this was kind of long for a simple question, I just like to explain things.

Yes that sounRAB like withdrawal symptoms. THe half-life of paxil is short ...that means it leaves your system quickly causing withdrawal. Usually the symptoms are dizziness, upset stomach, feeling like your being zapped.
Just begin taking it again as usual... try to be consistent with the time you take it everyday.
Good Luck!

By the way, YES it can cause withdrawal not only if you miss the dose but even if you take at a later time.... be sure to take it same time every day!

If you cant remeraber to take it every day, Prozac might be a better choice - it has a very long half life, so missing an occasional dose isnt so critical.

Have you tried setting an alarm clock to ring at the time you're meant to take your tablet?
