Parking brake light on 2000 Ford Windstar?

My parking brake light comes on when applying brakes. I have adjusted the rear brakes and inspected them. I have also checked the fronts and there is plenty of pad left. This light goes off about 10 seconds after foot is off pedal..Why does this come on?
 
It could be the brake fluid level sensor in master cylinder check fluid level.Some times you have to tap the reservoir lightly to unstick the float sensor.
