Parents please answer In news about lax parenting well mine have not read that?

Is it fair that at ") (yes not even a teen) I get mum and dad having ago because I was out all night and didn't tell them. Just had a row like a 13 year old and eneded up swearing. Not usual cos I usually get on fine, but when you hear how kids today are getting away with murder, have I got like victorian ones? Also how do I resolve it I feel they are wrong, I know if I out this in parenting I will get parents saying now then young lady and stuff....so sensible views??

I'm guessing that ") is actually 20! It's their house so it would be courteous to inform them if you are going to be out all night. If you find their expectations oppressive get a room/flat of your own!

So I worked out that ") is 20. 20 is old enough to suit yourself and stay out late once in a while. I used to do that when I was your age. My parents didn't worry too much about me being out and about. I did try to let them know if I was going to stay out, as I didn't want them to worry.

So, yes. Tell them to belt up, but be nice and let them know what you are doing so they don't worry.

edit. I see someone else did too.

Do you want us to say it's ok for a 13 year old kid to stay out all night without parents knowing . ... No way . Your parents should ground you till you're 40. You want sensible views ... I think that means you want us to agree with you . What you did was foolish and immature and dangerous and childish.
