Parents, have you ever actually given your child a spanking in public- public

I don't agree that a child should be publicly spanked. It's embarrassing for other people who are around and for that child, and it should never be bare bottom or for extended periods of time.

One pop, not bare bottom, can make a point just fine, and that pop should be at home when the parent can sit the child down and explain why that child received punishment. What good is punishment if the child doesn't know what they did to get that?

In the store the parent can sit the child in the cart and say "You're going to get a spanking when we get home for" such and such a reason. The anxiety is usually worse than the spanking and by the time the child gets home they've done their punishment. A spanking probably won't be necessary by the time you get home.
 
restrooms, gone out to the car..? etc?? To those that agree with and practice spanking as discipline, do any of you ever take your kids to the bathroom in public areas and spank them right there? Do you not mind even if other people are there that can hear it?? Or out to the car to do so? And I'm not talking about a pop or smack right in public, im talking about a bare bottom spanking for misbehaving or something...

One time my mom, i was about 8 or 9. I was having a bad attitude and we were eating dinner in a very busy restaurant. She took me back to the bathroom and spanked me for about 5 minutes bare bottom, and when i walked out the diners around the bathroom were all embarassed because they had heard me crying.
