My 4yo still does this. I tell him, "Okay sweetie, you don't have to announce it, just go when you have to go." Yet, he still announces it every time, usually pretty loudly. It's beginning to get annoying.
Oooh, good point LCG! Man, I learn so much here! I am being sincere, I swear. I can't wait until the next time it happens, so I can reprimand him and say, "Sweetie, the proper word is defecate, not poop. In this house we use proper terminology when referring to bodily functions. Please remember that the next time you need to defecate." That is totally up my parenting-style alley!!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that.
