Paranormal Activity, pah !

I thought this was a great film. Really creepy. I watched it at university in my friend's room when I was living in halls, so the atmosphere was just right for a film like this. I didn't want to go back to my room after the film finished!

The only bit that made me laugh was
when that guy who gets rid of spirits comes round to the house and tells the woman 'he couldn't do anything' - I'm sooo glad I wasn't in her shoes! :D

Can't wait for Paranormal Activity 2! :)

Have to agree with the OP, I watched this film when it first came out and found it boring, nothing at all scary to it. But then I never found Blair Witch even remotely scary. I get the fact that they are trying to put over real fears without the use of a lot of technology. And I do believe in ghosts, but this film just did a very poor job in my opinion.

I think the ending is a work of genius and the premise is very clever as well, but if you look at it, over the hour and a half length, the scares mostly come from the unseen/suspense rather than what actually happens. So once you know what's coming, where's the fear factor?

Then again, for some people that fear factor will always be there. My girlfriend was petrified by it on first and second viewings, whilst I only really thought it was scary on first viewing. Drag Me To Hell is a superior film :D

Saw in the cinema a while ago and thought it was a load of crap. Now me and my friend are a bit wussy when it comes to horror films, esp ghost ones, I couldn't sleep for days after watching The Grudge, but this film was laughable.

It wasn't scary in the slightest and people were actually laughing at it in the cinema, the only part that scared me was right at the end and that was just because it made me jump. I've seen a fair few horror films and I'd say this one is the least scary and probably the worst.

I don't understand how people can say it's so terrifying, because it doesn't take a lot to scare me, but this didn't in the slightest.

I thought it had some creepy ideas. Katie stood by the bed for hours each night watching Micah whilst he slept was pretty darn unnerving. My brother used to sleepwalk like that when I lived at home. He would be asleep stood up on the landing. Used to freak us all out.

Gotta admit I loved this film, It was more creepy than out an out scary and it didn't give me nightmares at all :o Very good idea well made imho, but then Blair Witch was like Marmite, either love it or hate it or throw up after it like one of my frienRAB lol :D

There are two endings on the DVD: the 'original' and the Spielberg.

Yeah, same here. I hoped he'd die quickly, much like I wanted those irritating ****wits to die in the first 2 minutes in Cloverfield.

To be honest, I wasn't remotely scared by this film - whereas BWP still senRAB shivers up my spine, even though I know exactly what's coming.

Yep, agreed.

I'm being somewhat unfair to it.

It does neeRAB to be seen in a cinema with LOUD, dynamic surrounRABound plus the breathless anticipated anxiety of 600 other big fearties. :p

I would think it would be scarier watching it on DVD at home. Yeah you get the atmosphere in the cinema but I would get creeped out even more going up to bed after watching it!

I liked it. I haven't been "scared" by a movie since i was 10 and watched Nightmare on Elm Street, but found Paranormal Activity really creepy. Im also a total sceptic and don't buy into anything to do with ghosts but did get drawn into the movie probably to do with the camcorder style of shooting and the fact I watched it at home alone at night with the lights off.

I do think its the type of movie you need to "invest" in, watching it with other people talking the whole way through while you text on your mobile probably isn't going to do much.

Hubby and son watched it and came downstairs as if they'd crapped themselves lol!!:D Can't wait to see it, they are both scared of horror etc but won't admit!!:D

Have you guys seen the new trailer for the film, they have changed the ending again...
