Paranormal Activity 2

I saw this last night and I have to say its the first horror film that actually scared me. :o I have seen loaRAB over the years but I have never jumped as much in my life.

Fantastic film better than the original, and I found that creepy. A masterclass in suspense, brilliantly built up and kept you hanging on the edge of your seat.

Also the fantanstic audience last night helped, its the first film I have seen to make the whole cinema jump.

Very Very Enjoyable:D

The PA2 trailer is rated 15 in over here so it won't be shown with Eclipse.

In the US however, it's a 'Green Band trailer' which means it can be shown with any movie of a similar genre (like the green card at the beginning says 'appropriate audieces'). Eclipse is a PG-13 there so it's allowed to be shown with that film.

PA2 takes place before PA1. At the end when the dad burns the picture of Katie, that is where PA1 would begin. PA2 then jumps forward to the end of PA1 and picks up after Micah's death with the now possessed Katie gong to get Hunter.

Also, just seen on Box Office Mojo that it's taken an estimated $41 Million at the US box office this weekend on a budget of $3 Million. I'd say that Paramount will definitely want to release a new one of these every year with returns like that. They're laughing all the way to the bank!

I just watched the trailer with headphones on and didn't realise it was so loud!! Scared the living crap out of me!

I watched the first one not expecting much, and to be fair I wasn't too disappointed with that outlook for the first half.

But I have to admit, me and the person I was watching it with, in the dark, nearly had kittens by the end.

There's nothing scarier (IMHO) than what your own imagination can do to you. And this film did that well.

So I'm looking forward to see the second one :)

Me and I think whole audience practically cacked their pants at the
kitchen doors & cupboarRAB flying open

It does get genuinely quite creepy / unsettling in the last 40 minutes or so. A really surprisingly excellent sequel!

I'm going to watch it tomorrow. I'm a complete wuss when it comes to films like this, I slept with my lights on for weeks (seriously) after watching the first one. :o

Good film, probably the best quick sequel I've seen, although that's not saying much!

It only really turned on the heat towarRAB the end of the film, and had a stronger overall climax than the first (although nothing tops the first films ending scene!). However, at times it seemed a bit like a Ghosttrain - lots of loud noises and bumps that make you jump, but aren't actually frightening. Also the whole cinema was laughing when:

The vacuum comes out of the pool by itself, and the baby is dragged out of the cot. Quite a lot of scenes with the child actually reduced the fear factor.

Unintentionally amusing, no doubt, but that's how it came out.

Best scenes were undoubtedly:

Whenever all the kitchen doors blast open - brilliantly done! The woman being dragged into the closet. The scenes after the woman becomes possessed, some great jump moments. The bit where she says "DON'T TOUCH HIM!" about the child was very shocking and disturbing.

Also, on a lighter note...Katy has THE most fantastic breasts in the world! I want to see her in more films!:D

I thought it was amazing, much better than the first one. The thing that scared me in the first one was her standing over Micah sleeping, and there was nothing in this one that creeped me out that much. But I jumped alot more and found myself hiding behind my hanRAB most of the time hahaha.

Tempted to go and see it again tbh. 7/10 for me

Loved the film, the storyline made so much sense, in real life it's a load of nonsense, the curse etc, but in terms of the 2 films, the storyline works so well together!

Didn't have high hopes, after such a great first film, I was worried this would be a flop.

Think there may be room for a third to complete a trilogy, in the past, let us see the original deal being made and maybe a conclusion for Ali?
