Paprika ^_^

I just recently saw this anime movie and I must say it kicks so much ass. One of the trippiest I've seen. Good plot, amazing visuals and high entertainment.

Any opinions? I loved the scene where the insane dream spills out into the streets.

I saw Paprika not too long ago myself & I agree, some of the trippiest animation I've ever seen. The dream world was amazing.
I recommend Paprika to anyone who wants a highly entertaining visual anime movie with a story that will make you think a bit afterwarRAB.

I loved this movie. My favorite character was the obsessive guy that loves that scientist woman (forget her name).

And it's really sweet that the woman and the huge obese guy have a thing. It says that love isn't all about appearances. It's whats inside that counts.

Yeah it was a pretty memorable anime. I love the scene where the scientist runs mad with delusion and jumps out the window, it was so random and unexpected.

I saw this a while back and I think what I loved the most is that the scientist becomes someone else when she's Paprika. Two sides of the same self.

Plus, the animation was so distinct, smooth, and detailed. If that isn't art, I couldn't tell you what is.

Bought this and when I watched it was shocked the DVD was Restricted. o_O It doesn't seem like it should be restricted. My sister watched part of it until it confused her.

I bought it since some people said I'd really enjoy this directors films, and I admit, I adore those films now. The two others I want to own seem impossible to get, although I watched one at the convention last year. I really love the story and animation. ^^ So detailed~.

It's probably my favorite anime movie yet. I mean, the plotline was great, the animation was BEAUTIFUL, and it just entranced me. I have to say, I really liked the ending the best; chubby guy gets the girl!

For those of you who have seen Perfect Blue, how well would you rate it on a scale from 1-10 (10 being super awesome)?

I want to see it but I don't know if it's worth it. The plot seems a bit scattered to me.

I enjoyed Paprika but not as much as his other films. It was fantastic whilst dancing through the various dream sequences but stuttered badly the rest of the time. Made the flow of the film very uneven for me.

I rate Perfect blue 8-9 out of 10. The plot is very tightly written and doesn't wander or lose itself anywhere. The way it looks at how we are viewed and pressured into being a certain way is unsettling at times. I still regard it as one the best anime films ever made.

Paprika is a 7 out of 10 for me.

I don't think anything is too weird. It just makes you think more. If you're incapable of thinking deeply enough, you might say it's "weird".

It was weird because it was weird not because I was incapable of anything, I knew what was going on but that didn't change the fact that it was a weird film and not to my taste.

I think your initial comment was a little too off-hand Ikki. It sounded very dimissive.

I like Paprika, it's not the easiest film to watch as I feel it doesn't flow particularly well making the story rather uneven. Probably because of that I can understand why people may not like it much. That and some of the rather bizarre dream sequences.

^This^, I just did not enjoy Paprika, great animation. But that's all it had going for it, found the soundtrack to be annoying, plot is a mess. I just wasn't getting into it, Perfect Blue was great because it felt so haunting(The track that plays on the dvd menu gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it).
