Pantech Matrix won't charge

Well i have a pantech matrix that i forgot i had. Reason why i forgot i had it? It doesnt charge, at all. When i plug the charger in the light indicating its on is lit, but when i plug it into the phone it goes off. When i take it out it turns back on. Does anyone know how to fix this? /:
 
buy an
new charger and if it does the same thing it means ur phone charger hole is messed up. if that is true then you will have to get a new one.

i have a pantech matrix and it did the same thing but it was my charger the end that u put in the phone was not working right so i bought a new one and now it charges up just fine.
 
ive tried three different chargers. I took it to radioshack and they said it was the port that was messed up. a piece of metal thats on the side of the pronge is gone. is there anyway i can replace the charging port?
