i have one of those really old tape players by panasonic in my 97 cavalier. I put a tape in the tape deck, normally it plays fine. However, the past few days when i go to put in a tape, all it does is plays for half a second, and trys to auto rewind an already rewound tape. and it loops the process non stop til i switch it to stereo mode. process goes something like this:
*put in tape*
sound comes from tape
*rewinds* no sound
plays, with sound
*rewinds, no sound.
What is the problem? ive checked the radio fuse. nothing is burnt. all wires are set. nothing is stuck in the tape player its self.
I would be glad to disclose the model of the stereo, however, the damn thing doesnt say. All thats on it is this on the top left "E11" and panasonic on the bottom. o...cant forget the "auto rewind" on the tape deck door. this tape player is roughly as old as my car, taken real good care of....well, til it started acting up- in which i may have thrown a few punches. other than that, its fine. to give a rough estimate on age, id actually say its been in there within the past 5 or 6 years. seeing as it only has a tape player and stereo option.
