palmone file transfer

I have the Palm Tungsten T5, I have transfered files (word programs) from my computer to my palm in the past but now for some reason I can't do it (new laptop but it still should work)

I open up the PalmOne Quick Install
and it gives me 2 choices of Handheld or Expansion Card and I want do install onto the Handheld
I go to drag a file from Word and it will not go to the spot for Handheld but it will for Expansion Card
what am I doing wrong, I did this 8 months ago but not sure what I'm doing now.

why is it that I worked on this for 2 days and could not get it to work
but post this question and 5 mins later I see what I'm doing wrong and it works now (has to be the pda, can't be the operator)
